Let's start with the idea. I'm going to base it on a centaur at a party, standing uncomfortably in a limbo line. Due to certain physical traits, this is not a game he's well suited for. First on the paper, I start out with a 6"x6" box. I actually have the computer print these boxes onto the paper, so I don't have to repeat it over and over myself. Within the box, the general layout begins. I usually do not have a clear picture in mind of what the finished product will look like, so I start roughing in the major parts of the drawing, experimenting with angles as I go. I still don't know how many people there will be, their genders, etc. Notice the balloons? They're to convey 'party'.
